Four Eagles Collect UAA Athlete of the Week Honors

Four Emory University student-athletes across four sports were recognized as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week Monday evening.

Graduate student Colton Myers from men's soccer earned his first weekly award in an Emory uniform while men's golf senior Jackson Klutznick picked up his sixth career weekly honor. Senior Kylie Hall of women's soccer was honored with her third weekly award and junior Alana Dawson from volleyball collected her second of her career.

Myers helped the Eagles clinch their first UAA title in 11 years on Sunday, scoring three times as Emory triumphed over Brandeis and NYU by a combined 8-3 tally. Myers scored the first of Emory's three first half goals on Friday in the 4-2 win over the Judges before notching his third brace of the season with two first half goals in the 4-1 win over the Violets. For the season, Myers paces the Eagles with eight goals and 17 points.

Dawson played a major role in the Eagles' wins over Brandeis and WashU on Sunday afternoon as Emory clinched the No. 1 seed for the UAA Championships after completing a perfect 7-0 run in UAA Round Robins. She totaled 25 kills on Sunday including a career-high 20 kills against WashU helping to secure the five-set showdown. In total, she recorded 33 kills with her eight kills on Friday against Covenant.

Klutznick's stellar senior season continued this past week, playing in two competitions in Sandestin, Florida. The highlight of the week was him leading the Eagles to a share of the UAA title, winning both of his rounds of match play in dominating fashion to be named the tournament's MVP. Klutznick also turned in a solid performance at the Golfweek October Classic, finishing the three-round competition shooting a 215 (+2).

Hall recorded a team-best three goals to lead the Eagles to a 2-1 week in matches against Birmingham-Southern, Brandeis and NYU. Hall recorded a brace in the team's 8-0 drubbing over BSC on Wednesday before netting the game-winning goal Friday night against the Judges.
