Klutznick Named to Team USA for Arnold Palmer Cup; Only Non-Division I Participant in Men’s Field

Emory senior men's golfer Jackson Klutznick has been named as a participant in the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup, representing Team USA at the event, as announced this afternoon on the Golf Channel. Klutznick is the only non-NCAA Division I participant named to the Team USA men's team.

The Arnold Palmer Cup is an international collegiate event structured like the Ryder Cup, with Team USA taking on Team International in match-play format. The Arnold Palmer Cup has been played annually since 1997 as a means of bringing together the top collegiate players in the United States against their counterparts from the international pool. Teams consist of 12 men's and 12 women's golfers. LSU's women's golf head coach Garrett Runion and Arizona State's men's golf head coach Matt Thurmond will be Team USA's co-head coaches in 2024. The other 11 members of Team USA's men's roster are Luke Clanton (Florida State), David Ford (North Carolina), Ian Gilligan (Florida), Ben James (Virginia), Jackson Koivun (Auburn), Michael La Sasso (Ole Miss), Jack Lundin (Missouri), Gordon Sargent (Vanderbilt), Preston Summerhays (Arizona State), Brendan Valdes (Auburn), and Jackson Van Paris (Vanderbilt).

Previous participants in the Arnold Palmer Cup have combined for 415 victories on the PGA, European and LPGA Tours. Notable alumni include Masters and US Open Champions Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson as well as PGA Champions Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.

The recognition for Klutznick comes after a record-breaking season with the Eagles. The Denver, Colorado native shattered the program-best three-round score with a 197 (-16) in the Gate City Invitational earlier this season. This was the first time an Eagle has shot under 200 in a 54-hole event. He broke the program's single-round score record at the same event when he shot a dazzling 61 (-10) to propel himself to an individual victory. He played a key role in Emory's UAA Championship this past fall, winning both rounds of match play to secure the program's 21st program championship.

Since transferring to Emory as a sophomore, Klutznick has been named First Team All-UAA in each of his three seasons while being named a First Team All-American twice, with the opportunity to make it three-straight this spring. Klutznick has led the Eagles to two UAA Championships and two top-12 finishes at the NCAA National Championships in his illustrious career.

The 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup will consist of four rounds, all match-play structure. The event starts with mixed four-ball matches, foursomes, mixed foursomes, and a singles round. The event will be held from July 5th through July 7th at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland and streamed live on The Golf Channel.
