Mason Briles joins the Emory athletic training staff in January 2022 after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer previously at Tucker High School. Mason has previously worked within elite athletics including Team USA Marathon Olympic Trials, Iron Man Triathlons, the NBA Academy, Division I Men’s Football and Women’s Basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Division III athletics at Emory University.

Mason also has several years of experience within the secondary school setting working with state champion athletic programs at McCallie Boy’s School and Decatur High School. In addition to his clinical work, Mason has published and presented research on a variety of topics such as biomechanical data collection, traumatic orthopedic injury, infectious disease transfer (epidemiology), and exercise-induced heat transfer. 

Mason is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he obtained his Master of Science in athletic training, and Auburn University’s School of Kinesiology, where he completed concurrent bachelor’s degrees in exercise science and physical activity and health: fitness, conditioning, and performance.
