Emory

Devon Hendricks joined the Emory University Athletics and Recreation in November of 2022 as the Deputy Athletics Director for External Operations. Hendricks will have supervision of the department's events and marketing, facilities and athletic communications, as well as serving as a department liaison to campus partners including public affairs and communications, marketing, licensing and trademark. In addition, she will provide oversight of selected intercollegiate programs.

Hendricks joins the Eagles following a long-tenured career at the University of Texas where she served in a variety of capacities since joining the Longhorns in August of 2000. She brings a wide array of experience to Emory including oversight of regular season and post season sport operating budgets and event hosting, travel expense reports, UIL state championship events, facility use and maintaining non-conference contracts for all women's non-conference athletic contest.

Hendricks most recently served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Events and Operations at Texas, overseeing the sport operations budget for men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and men's and women's tennis while acting as the event administrator for those programs, championship and budget oversight for NCAA and Big 12 Championships for tennis, volleyball and women's basektball, served as part of a sport administration oversight group, and oversaw facility scheduling for athletic facilities. Furthermore, she served as the athletics liaison between RecSports, Dean of Students and athletics and was honored this fall with the Rising Executives Commitment Award presented by Women Leaders in College Sports.

Hendricks began her Longhorn career in the summer of 2000 as the Events Assistant and Assistant Events Manager before she was elevated to Manager of Events and Operations in September of 2003, where she served as the primary event manager for soccer, swimming & diving and tennis. She spent four years in that position prior to being elevated to Director of Events and Operations in September of 2007. She served in that role until she was promoted to her current position as Assistant Athletics Director for Events and Operations in September 2012.

In addition to her responsibilities with the Longhorns, Hendricks has championship event hosting experience, serving as the tournament director for several NCAA sponsored events including men's & women's swimming & diving, Big 12 swimming & diving championships, and NCAA women's basketball, soccer men's and women's tennis. She has served on the Big 12 swimming & diving sport advisory committee as well as NCAA Championship committees for men's and women's tennis and men's and women's swimming.

Hendricks earned bachelor's degrees in Travel Tourism Hospitality and Sport Management from Temple University in 2000 and later earned a Master's in Education in Higher Education Administration (CUSPA) from the University of Texas in 2012.
