(May 24) Emory University's Justin Gordon led the Eagles with a .429 batting average in the NCAA Division III regional championship. Gordon was 3-for-4 in the opening win against York (Pa.) and 2-for-3 against Methodist (N.C.), ranked No. 29 in the nation. Last season, Gordon was named to the all-tournament team at the Division III World Series where he hit .462. He finished the season with a .327 batting average for the Eagles (42-6).

(May 10) Emory University's Josh Barrett concluded his most successful regular season with a pair of hits against a national top-25 team. Barrett was 2-for-3 with one RBI at the plate in the regular-season finale against North Georgia College and State University, ranked No. 24 in the nation in NAIA. Barrett ends the regular season with a .365 batting average, up from .315 last season and .286 two years ago. The junior outfielder also has 48 stolen bases, tying him for first in the nation for most steals and placing him second in the nation for steals per game. Barrett and teammates await a bid to the NCAA national tournament to be announced Sunday.

(April 26) Will Carr picked up victories in both of his starts last week to break the Emory University record for wins in a season with 12. Carr, who is a perfect 12-0 on the year and 22-0 for his career, walked only two batters in 16.0 innings and compiled a 3.94 earned run average. Against LaGrange College, Carr pitched his second complete game of the season (the only two by an Emory pitcher this year), allowing six hits and striking out four for the win. The Eagles, ranked second in the nation, take a 40-3 record into their final regular season game May 7th.

(April 19) Josh Barrett hit .500 last week as Emory University won three games to improve to 37-3 on the year. Barrett, the NCAA Division III national leader in stolen bases, stole three more to bring his season total to 45. The junior, ranked 14th in the nation in runs scored, crossed the plate three times to increasing his season total to 44. Against Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.), Barrett was 3-for-5 with a run scored, a RBI, a stolen base and a double to help Emory to a one-run victory. The outfielder also scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning after walking and stealing a base in another Eagle win against Savannah. The Eagles are ranked second nationally according to the latest American Baseball Coaches' Association poll.

(April 12) Tom Mieczkowski won both of his starts last week to improve his record to a perfect 7-0 on the season. Mieczkowski, who has picked up a win in seven of his eight starts this year, struck out 14 batters and allowed three runs in 13 innings last week for a 2.08 ERA. Against Piedmont, Mieczkowski pitched six shutout innings allowing five hits and striking out seven for the victory. Mieczkowski leads all Eagles with a 0.89 ERA for the season and is holding all opponents to a .244 batting average. Emory, with a record of 34-3, is the second ranked team in the nation.

(April 5) Bryan Langbord hit .400 and drove in five runs in four games last week for Emory University. Langbord, who was 6-for 15 for the week, picked up a double and a triple while scoring five runs. Against La Grange (GA), Langbord went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a stolen base. Langbord is hitting .419 on the season with 35 RBI and 24 runs scored. The Eagles, who are now 31-2 this season, are ranked second in the nation.

(March 29) Josh Barrett stole five bases in four games last week to set the new Emory University record for most steals in a season. Barrett broke the former Eagle record of 30 stolen bases in a season on March 25th against DePauw University (IN). He has now stolen 34 bases in 38 attempts this season. After being named to the all-conference second team, the junior outfielder went 5-for-15 with six runs scored last week. In a game against Palm Beach Atlantic University (FL), Barrett went 3-for 5 with three runs, three stolen bases, and a RBI. The Eagles are now 28-1 this season and are ranked 2nd nationally in the NCAA Division III poll.

(March 22) Andrew Pinckney batted .541 last week to continue to lead the Eagles to their best start in team history. Pinckney amassed 13 hits and 14 runs over the course of 24 at bats in seven games. The third baseman drove in nine runs and hit five doubles. In a game against Savannah College of Art & Design (GA), Pinckney went 3-for 4 with three runs, three RBI and two doubles. Against Heidelberg (Ohio), the 28th ranked team in the nation, the junior was 2-for 4 with a home run and two RBI. For the season, Pinckney is batting a team-high .511 with 34 RBI in 24 games. The Eagles, ranked 12th in the nation according to the preseason poll, are 24-0 this season.

(March 15) Emory University's Rob Segear led all conference players in hitting with a .550 batting average in the annual University Athletic Association tournament. Segear had four multi-hit games in the Eagles' six games in Florida. The shortstop was 4-for-4 against Brandeis (Mass.) with two RBIs and a double. Segear was 3-for-3 against Washington (Mo.) with an RBI. For the week, he was first among all UAA participants in hits (11) and runs scored (8), and second with a .591 on-base percentage, third in doubles (3), and fifth with a .700 slugging percentage. Segear had a .938 fielding percentage in the conference tournament, second best among all competing shortstops. Last season, Segear hit .438 and had a .958 fielding percentage in the UAA championship. His performance this season helped the Eagles win the conference title with a perfect 6-0 record.

(March 8) Steve Zaychik notched the win for Emory University on the road against Southern Polytechnic State University (GA), an NAIA school. Zaychik hurled 6.2 scoreless innings, yielding six hits and recording eight strikeouts. The senior improves to 2-0 on the season with an ERA of 1.23. In 14.2 innings of work this season, Zaychik has allowed 14 hits, only one for extra bases and is leading the team in strikeouts with 17. Zaychik has helped the Eagles (11-0) to their best start in history.

(March 1) Andrew Pinckney, who hit .583 and drove in 12 runs in six games last week, was named Emory's Most Valuable Player in the Rawlings Tournament. Pinckney, who was 14-24 at the plate, also scored six runs of his own, and picked up four doubles, a triple and four stolen bases over the course of the week. In a game against Maryville College (TN), Pinckney went 4-4 with two runs, two RBI, a triple and a stolen base. The junior third baseman is the team leader in both average (.548) and RBI (19). Emory, ranked 12th in the nation, is off to its best start in team history with a 10-0 record, and will look to carry the momentum into the UAA tournament next weekend.

(Feb. 23) Will Carr won his first two starts of the season for Emory University last week, allowing only five earned runs in 13.1 innings pitched. The junior pitcher picked up the win in Emory's season opener, giving up three earned runs on five hits in 5.1 innings against the University of the South (TN). Against Brescia University (KY), Carr, over eight innings, allowed two runs on four hits and struck out three for his second win in as many starts. With the two wins, Carr's career record remained perfect, improving to 12-0. Behind Carr's wins the Eagles, ranked 12th in the nation, improved their record to 4-0 on the season.
