Junior (2004):

Pinckney became the third Emory player, but the first position player, to be named a first-team All-American. Pinckney was also was named first team all-region and took home co-MVP honors for the University Athletic Association (along with teammate Rob Segear). He finished among the national leaders in three statistical categories, placing 33rd in doubles, 35th in triples and 38th in RBI. Pinckney subsequently was drafted in the 34th round by and signed with the Boston Red Sox. He batted .415 with 21 doubles, seven triples, seven home runs and 60 RBI in 48 games. Pinckney is the third Eagle ever to hit .400 or better in consecutive seasons. At the conference tournament, Pinckney batted .417 with a home run and five RBI. In just two years on the team, Pinckney finished in the top 10 in school history in numerous categories, including first in batting average (.433), first in slugging percentage (.726), second in on-base percentage (.499), second in triples (14), fifth in home runs (13), sixth in doubles (42), eighth in RBI (115) and eighth in total bases (270).

Sophomore (2003):

In his first season on the team, Pinckney, a sophomore third baseman, led Emory in batting average (.450), on-base percentage (.518), slugging percentage (.730), hits (85), RBI (55), doubles (21), triples (seven) and walks (26), and tied for the lead in home runs (six). Pinckney broke the Eagles' single-season record for hits, and ranks second all-time in Emory season record book for RBI and total bases, third in batting average and slugging percentage; and fifth in on-base percentage. Pinckney was named first team all-conference, all-tournament at both the NCAA Division III College World Series and the NCAA Division III regional, and second team all-region by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Pinckney was 8-for-13 (.615) at the College World Series, including a 4-for-4 day with three doubles against No. 21 DeSales (Penn.) May 4. In all, Pinckney hit .533 (16-for-30) in postseason play. Pinckney's 18-game hitting streak was the longest of the season for Emory. He had 30 multihit games, which led the team. Those included three three-hit games and three four-hit games. He had eight games where he picked up at least 3 RBI. Pinckney went 4-for-5 with 4 RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in a 15-12 win over Taylor (Ind.) March 22. He went 6-for-8 with a run scored and 4 RBI to lead a doubleheader sweep over Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) April 19. He hit a three-run pinch-hit home run against Lynchburg (Va.) March 2. Pinckney hit safely in 22 of his first 23 games and ended the year on an 11-game hitting streak.
