(May 2) Emory University's Josh Barrett went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a game against North Georgia College. In his final game, the senior had a hit and an RBI in a win against the 19th ranked team in the nation, LaGrange College. Barrett finished the season first on the team in hits (53), runs (32) and stolen bases (32). His .331 batting average was third on the team. For his career, Barrett is Emory's all-time leader in stolen bases with 94. In 134 games played with Emory, 106 of which he started, Barrett compiled a .338 batting average, 109 runs and 153 hits.

(April 25) Emory University's Justin Gordon hit .471 in five games last week. The junior went 8-for-17, including four runs, two walks and four stolen bases. In two games against Methodist College (NC), ranked 12th in the nation, Gordon went 5-for-10 with a run, a double, two walks and a stolen base. On the season, Gordon is third on the team with a .341 batting average and a .406 on-base percentage. In addition, he has been successful in12 of 15 steal attempts. The second baseman is on pace to hit over .300 for the third straight season. His .350 career batting average is the best among active Emory players and eighth in school history.

(April 18) Emory University's Ian Ganzer picked up his first complete-game win of the season, 6-1 against the University of the South (TN). Ganzer yielded five hits and one walk in nine innings of work, while fanning 10 batters. He retired 14 in a row between the third and eighth innings and did not allow an extra-base hit all game. Ganzer's 10 strikeouts are the most in a game by an Emory pitcher this season and the fifth most in school history. The last Emory player to fan more than 10 batters was Matthew Palmer in April of 2002. In 44.1 innings pitched on the season, the sophomore leads the team in strikeouts with 42 and is tied for the team lead in wins with five.

(April 11) Emory University's Justin Gordon batted .438 with a .526 on-base percentage in four games last week. The junior had four runs, seven hits, four of which were doubles, two RBIs, three walks and a stolen base on the week. In a game against Piedmont College (GA), Gordon went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Gordon is batting .344 on the season.

(April 4) Emory University's Taylor Gettinger batted .533 in four games last week. The junior went 8-for-15, including a hit in each game, three runs and two RBIs. The infielder had three multi-hit games, including one against Oglethorpe University (GA), in which he went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base.

On the season, the Gettinger leads his team in batting average (.381). His 19 runs scored and 17 RBIs are second best on the team.

(March 28) Emory University's Jason Glushon has been named Emory's Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. The pitcher earned his fourth win of the season after defeating Heidelberg College (OH), ranked 23rd in the nation. In seven innings of work, the sophomore yielded one run on five hits while striking out four. For the season, Glushon's 1.79 earned run average, 4-0 record and 24 strikeouts lead the team. Last season, Glushon appeared in nine games, pitching 26.2 innings and compiling a 2-0 record.

(March 21) Emory University pitcher Jason Glushon improved his record to 3-0 on the season with a 4-0 victory over Edgewood College (WI). The sophomore pitched seven scoreless innings for his second combined shutout of the season. After taking a perfect game into the fifth inning, Glushon yielded four hits and no walks while fanning four batters. The right hander's 1.89 season earned run average leads the team. He is second on the team in strikeouts and has held batters to a .242 batting average while walking just seven in 33.1 innings of work.

(March 7) Emory University's Brandon Custer led a hot Eagles offense to three victories last week, including one against North Georgia College, ranked 7th in the nation in the NAIA. The sophomore went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI against North Georgia in the first three-hit game and the second multi-hit game of his career. He had another three-hit game against Maryville College (TN) later in the week. In four games, Custer batted .571, scoring four runs, driving in four more and doubling twice. His .370 batting average for the season is third on the team.

(Feb. 28) Emory University's Frank Pfister compiled a .462 batting average in five games last week. The freshman had five RBIs over the week, including three against Virginia Wesleyan College, ranked 28th in the nation. In that game he went 2-for-2 with a walk, helping the Eagles to a 5-3 victory.

On the season, the second baseman leads the team in batting average (.500) and is second in slugging percentage (.611).

(Feb. 21) Will Carr won his first two starts of the season for Emory University. The senior threw seven shutout innings against Washington & Lee University (VA) in the season opener in which he yielded only three hits.

After a two-run first against Oglethorpe, Carr allowed no more runs and only three hits in four more innings of work. Carr's ERA after two games is 1.50. In 12 innings pitched he has not allowed any extra base hits.

The senior is tied for third in school history for career victories. With a 25-0 career record, he is nine victories shy of the school record set by Ryan Donegan (1998-2001).
