Senior (2008):

Pfister completed one of the most successful careers in the history of the Emory University Baseball program.  The senior was named the ABCA/ Rawlings Gold Glove third baseman for the South Region, after committing just nine errors at the hot corner.  Pfister was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Most Valuable Player after batting .462 (12-for-26) with two doubles and a home run during the six-game round robin, with a tournament-best 10 runs batted in.  He also earned a spot on the ABCA/ Rawlings all-South Region second team, and on the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first team.  Pfister started all 37 games at third base for the Eagles, leading the team with a career-high six home runs, 14 doubles, 51 runs batted in, and a .590 slugging percentage.  He struck out just seven times during the season, despite leading the team with 161 at bats.  He finished his Emory career third in school history with 220 hits and 143 RBIs, and seventh with a .369 batting average.  After the season, Pfister was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 17th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.

Junior (2007):

Pfister's 2007 season was one of the best offensive seasons in school history.  He started each of Emory's 53 games, leading the team with a .387 batting average and 51 runs scored, and was second on the club with 47 runs batted in.  His 87 hits during the year was the highest single-season total in school history, and the 18th-most in Division III history.  While setting a school record with 225 at bats during the season (the fifth-most in Division III history), Pfister struck out just 10 times, the 53rd-best ratio in the nation.  The third baseman was named the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA South Regional Tournament, after batting .640 with four doubles and seven runs scored, and making a number of dazzling defensive plays over five games.  In addition, Pfister was named to the NCAA Division III National Championship All-Tournament team (.360 average with four RBIs over six games) and the All-University Athletic Association first team (.364 with six runs scored in six games).  Pfister recorded the second-longest hitting streak in the nation this year, hitting safely in 25 games from March 3rd until April 10th.  He concluded the season with an 18-game hit streak, the sixth-longest in the nation during the year.  Pfister led the Eagles with four games of four hits or more over the course of the season. 

Sophomore (2006):

Pfister turned in a solid campaign in his second year as an Eagle as he was named first team All-UAA.  He finished the year with a batting average of .375, while competing in 39 contests.  For the year he collected 54 hits and recorded 36 RBI and scored 26 runs.  Against Division II North Georgia State on March 22 he finished 3-4 and recorded two RBI.  In a double-header against Methodist College (N.C.), Pfister finished 5-10 with three runs scored, two RBI and a double.  Recorded a homerun against Oglethorpe University (Ga.) on March 2.  Finished the year with eight stolen bases, highlighted by a three steal performance against Oglethorpe University on April 5.

Freshman (2005):

Infielder began his collegiate career with a six-game hitting streak, and earned 21 starts this year. Batted .273 in 66 at-bats. February 25 versus Virginia Wesleyan College, went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a walk.

Prior to Emory:

Played on the Harvard-Westlake High School baseball team for four seasons, serving as the captain of the team during his senior year... Was an all-Mission league second baseman his junior year, and an all-Mission league shortstop his senior year... Hit .385 with four homeruns during the 2004 season, and .398 with one homerun during the 2003 season... Was coached by Tim Cunningham.

Personal:

Born on August 25, 1986... Was teammates with former Emory pitcher Jason Glushon on Harvard-Westlake's city runner-up team in 2003.
