Attended the Berkeley Preparatory School, where he played on the baseball team for four years, and served as the team's captain during his junior and senior seasons... Was named to the 2006 Shorecrest Invitational All-Tournament Team, and earned the 2006 Coach's Player Award... Helped his team to the 2006 Bay Area Conference Championship, and the 2006 State Regional Finals, the 2007 State Regional Semi Finals... Was coached by Justin Houston in high school, and also played junior varsity football and basketball.
