Sophomore (2009):

Ryckman appeared in eight games during the season, making seven starts.  He finished the year with a record of 5-3, while recording a 4.46 earned run average.  In his 38.1 innings pitched, he struck out 17 batters while walking just 13 and picking off seven base runners.  Ryckman helped Emory to an 11-0 victory over Center College on March 24th, pitching five shutout innings while allowing just two hits and one walk, and striking out two batters.

Freshman (2008):

Ryckman was Emory's top starter during the season, going 5-1 with a 2.55 earned run average during his freshman campaign.  He struck out 38 batters in 49.1 innings, while allowing opponents to bat just .240 against him.  Ryckman allowed five extra-base hits during the season, all doubles, and held right-handed hitters to a .238 batting average.  He set a school single-season record with eight pickoffs during the year.  Ryckman earned all-UAA first team honors, after going 2-0 with a 1.64 earned run average and 14 strikeouts in two tournament starts, becoming just the second Emory freshman to be named to the all-UAA first team (infielder Burr Duryee, in 1993, was the other).  He was part of two Emory shutouts during the season, pitching five scoreless innings in the Eagles' 10-0 win over Case Western Reserve University on March 21st, and six one-hit shutout innings during a 12-0 victory over Huntingdon College on April 15th.

Prior to Emory:

Attended Berekely High School, where he played on the baseball team for four seasons, and served as the team's captain during his senior season... Recorded a 0.63 earned run average over 38 innings pitched in 2007... Was named to the Class 3A Florida All-State Team and a Scholar Athlete in 2007... Was the most valuable player of the varsity team as a sophomore in 2005... Was coached by Justin Houston in high school.

Personal:

Born on June 27, 1988... Was teammates with Emory's J.B. Meyer at Berkeley Preparatory.
