Senior (2010):

Katten was once again at the top of the Eagles' rotation in 2010, leading all Emory pitchers in wins with a 6-2 record over 11 starts and 12 total appearances.  Katten finished the season with a 4.96 earned run average, while allowing opponents a .332 batting average against.  In his 65.1 innings pitched, he struck out a team-high 39 batters, while walking 22.  He was particularly effective in closing out innings, holding opponents to a .279 batting average (24-for-86) with two outs.  Katten earned all-UAA Tournament honors for his performance at the conference tournament, going 2-0 with a 1.38 earned run average, striking out eight batters in 13 innings and holding opponents to a .224 batting average against.  He pitched seven shutout innings against York College (Pa.) on February 27th, allowing just seven hits en route to an 11-0 Emory win.  On March 9th against Brandeis University, he pitched eight innings without allowing an earned run on five hits, leading the Eagles to a 7-1 victory.  Katten finished his Emory career with a 13-5 record, the 14th-most wins in school history.

Junior (2009):

Katten became Emory's top starting pitcher during his junior season, leading the team with a 6-3 record, in addition to recording a 4.03 earned run average and striking out 24 batters in 58 innings pitched.  Katten made 13 appearances during the season, including a team-high nine starts, while holding opponents to a .296 batting average.  He led Emory to a 7-2 win over Case Western Reserve University on March 8th, pitching seven and two-thirds innings of two-run baseball, allowing just seven hits striking out a season-high six batters. 

Sophomore (2008):

Katten emerged as one of the most reliable arms out of the Emory bullpen during his sophomore campaign, recording a 4.57 earned run average and a 1-0 record.  Over 16 appearances, the second-most on the pitching staff, he struck out 17 batters in 21.2 innings pitched, and was part of two Emory shutouts during the season.  Katten excelled during the stretch run of the season, as the sophomore allowed just one earned run on five hits in his last six appearances (eight innings pitched), while striking out five and not issuing a walk.  He allowed just one extra-base hit, a double, during the season.  The sophomore earned the first victory of his career during the Eagles' 11-10 victory over Maryville College (Tenn.) on April 16th.

Freshman (2007):

Katten pitched in nine games out of the bullpen for the Eagles during the season, holding his opponents to one run or less in eight of the nine outings.  The freshman pitched a scoreless inning against the University of Rochester (N.Y.) at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Tournament.  Katten finished the season with a 4.91 ERA.
