Cohn Named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team

Emory University junior infielder Andrew Cohn was named to the 2010 ESPN the Magazine Academic all-District First Team for the second-straight year, based on his performance both on the field and in the classroom.

Cohn, who was named to the all-University Athletic Association first team earlier in the week, finished the season with a .392 batting average, the second-highest mark on the team, in addition to three home runs and 32 runs batted in.  The third baseman's .494 on base percentage led all Eagles, and he was second on the squad with a .592 slugging percentage.  In addition, he finished the season with 17 doubles, the third-most in the conference.  Earlier in the season, Cohn was named to the all-UAA tournament team.

Cohn has a cumulative grade point average of 3.84 as an economics major at Emory.  He has earned UAA academic recognition in each of his previous two seasons.

By virtue of being named to the all-district first team, Cohn will be placed on the ballot for the ESPN the Magazine Academic all-America team.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Emory nominees represent the "college division" in District 3 which is composed of NCAA Division II and III, and NAIA schools in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
