The Emory University baseball team will try to put an end to its three-game losing streak this week, as the Eagles will play at Maryville College (Tenn.) on Tuesday, April 6th, and host Oglethorpe University on Wednesday, April 7th.

Emory will begin the week a game below .500 at 13-14 on the season.  The Eagles are coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of Piedmont College last weekend.  Emory currently stands at 7-8 at home and 2-4 in road games this season.

Maryville will enter the game with an overall record of 16-9, including a mark of 8-4 in home games.  The Scots took two of three games against 21st-ranked Huntingdon College this past weekend.  Tuesday’s game against Maryville is slated for a 4:00 PM EST start.

Emory is 29-21 all time against Maryville.  The two teams met earlier in the season at Chappell Park, with the Scots prevailing 4-3 over the Eagles.  Emory junior Patrick Riebsame drove in two runs during the game, and senior Matthew Katten allowed two earned runs with five strikeouts over six innings.

Oglethorpe will begin the week with a record of 16-13 this season, including a mark of 4-6 in road games, and will face Piedmont at home on Tuesday before playing Emory.  The Stormy Petrels are coming off a three-game sweep against Sewanee this past weekend, and have now won five-consecutive games.  Wednesday’s game will start at 3:00 PM.

Emory holds a 36-13 advantage in the all-time meeting between the two teams.  The squads met during Emory’s season-opening game, with Oglethorpe prevailing 13-8 over Emory.  Sophomores Jonathan Reilly and Kevin O’Connor both drove in two runs during the loss.
