The Emory University baseball team will try to build off a 2-1
road weekend, as the Eagles will play a pair of night games at
North Georgia College and State University on Tuesday and
Oglethorpe University on Wednesday.
Emory currently stands at 15-17 this season, after defeating
Guilford College on Friday and splitting a two-game series with
26th-ranked Methodist University on Saturday and
Sunday. The Eagles are 4-6 in road games this season.
North Georgia, a NCAA Division II team, stands at 26-13, including
a mark of 16-7 at home during the season. The Saints are
coming off a series loss this past weekend, after dropping two of
three to Francis Marion University. Emory is 6-9 all time
against North Georgia, including a 6-3 win last season.
During the victory last year, Adam Genn,
Connor McGuiness, Will Gumm,
Brian Cournoyer and Zeb Heidt all
pitched scoreless innings, and catcher Jeremy
Bolian went two-for-two with two doubles and an RBI.
Tuesday’s game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
Oglethorpe is 19-15 this season, including a 12-8 record at
home. The Stormy Petrels took two of three games from
Centre College this past weekend, and will play at Huntingdon
College on Tuesday before playing the Eagles. This will be
the third and final matchup this season between the two teams, with
Oglethorpe having won the previous two games 13-8 and 6-5.
This season, Kevin O’Connor is three-for-six
against Oglethorpe with three RBIs, while Brian Cournoyer has
pitched four and a third scoreless innings against the Stormy
Petrels. Emory is 36-14 all time against Oglethorpe.
Wednesday’s game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
