Andrew DeYoung

Andrew DeYoung

Emory University sophomore Andrew DeYoung hit .300 (six-for-20) with a home run, two stolen bases and a team-high six RBIs during four games for the Eagles last week.  During a 13-9 win over Oglethorpe University on Tuesday, DeYoung went three-for-five with two stolen bases and a walk, in addition to scoring a run in the game.  The shortstop/outfielder followed that performance with a two-for-six effort against the University of the South on Wednesday, hitting his first career home run and driving in four runs in the game, en route to an 18-6 Emory win.  On Saturday, DeYoung was one-for-five with a two-RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning during a 6-3 loss at Berry College, and was 0-for-four against Berry on Sunday in a 5-1 Eagles defeat.  He ended the week with a .239 batting average and 12 RBIs during his 2011 campaign.  DeYoung has helped Emory to a 25-14 record this season.
