Emory University freshman Hans Hansen pitched six strong innings to earn a victory against Piedmont College in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. Making his second-career start, Hansen allowed three runs on eight hits during a 73-pitch effort. He failed to walk a batter, while striking out six in the game, which the Eagles went on to win 9-3. Hansen is 2-0 with a 4.50 earned run average this season, and has yet to walk a hitter through 12 innings pitched. Emory took two of three games from Piedmont over the weekend, improving to 5-2 in 2014.
