Emory University sophomore Luke Emmett earned the first win with the team, leading the 26th-ranked Eagle to a 4-1 win over DePauw University on Tuesday. Emmett started and pitched seven and two-thirds innings in the game, allowing just one run on four hits and a walk, while striking out four batters. The southpaw did not allow a hit until the fifth inning of the game, and allowed just the one hit through seven innings. Emmett improved to 1-0 on the season, and lowered his ERA to 2.04 on the year with a .177 opponents’ batting average. Emory went 4-1 in its five games last week, improving to 16-9 overall in 2015.
