Emory University senior outfielder Brett Lake hit .444 over the course of four games last week, helping the second-ranked Eagles to three wins. Lake picked up eight hits in 18 at bats, including one double, while scoring two runs and driving in a pair, in addition to stealing a base. He went three-for-five with an RBI and a stolen base in the Eagles’ 12-3 win over St. Joseph’s College of Maine on Monday. The preseason All-America selection followed that with a one-for-five performance with a run scored against Millsaps College, helping the Eagles to a 7-5 win. Lake then went four-for-five with a double and an RBI scored in a 5-4 victory against 11th-ranked Webster University, scoring the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning of the contest. He rounded out the week with a 0-for-3 game and a walk in a 5-0 loss to Rhodes College on Saturday. Lake is batting .423 this season with two doubles and four RBIs, helping Emory start its season with a 5-1 record.
