Jackson Weeg

Jackson Weeg

Emory University sophomore Jackson Weeg won a pair of games for the second-ranked Eagles last week.  Weeg appeared in a pair of games, including one start, and went 2-0 with a 1.12 earned run average, while striking out 10 batters and walking just two.  He surrendered just eight hits and one run over his eight innings of work.  On Monday, Weeg helped the Eagles to a 12-3 win over St. Joseph’s College of Maine (which received votes in both preseason polls), starting and scattering seven hits over six innings, while striking out seven and walking a pair.  The southpaw allowed just one run in the contest, en route to earning the victory.  He earned his second win of the week out of the bullpen, in a 5-4 victory against 11th-ranked Webster University.  Weeg allowed just one hit over the final two innings of the game, giving up just one hit and striking out three.  The Eagles finished the week with a 3-1 record, and have opened the campaign with a 5-1 record.
