Emory University freshman third basemen Trevor McAndrews was recognized by D3baseball.com Wednesday morning as he was selected to the National Team of the Week.

McAndrews is the third Emory Eagle to earn national recognition this season after juniors Jack Halloran and Bennett Speicher were honored on February 28.

The Arlington, Virginia native helped the Eagles to a 2-0 record against Covenant and Huntingdon during the week of March 4-10. During those two games, McAndrews went 6-for-8 at the plate, including a 4-for-4 effort against Covenant, and drove in three RBI in both wins. McAndrews scored six times and picked up one double in the games.

For the season, he is batting .321 in 11 games played with seven RBI and 11 runs scored. He owns a .486 on-base percentage while slugging .357.

McAndrews and the Eagles will be back on the diamond Thursday afternoon, hosting Piedmont University at Chappell Park starting at 2:00 PM.
