Emory Golf Places Four On All-UAA Team -- Organisak Named Player & Rookie Of The Year

Four members of the No. 3-ranked Emory University golf squad have been selected to the 2017 All-University Athletic Association Team.  The all-league picks were chosen by the conference coaches.  The Eagles saw three members of the program earn first-team status while one garnered second-team acclaim.

Freshman Matt Organisak (Sudbury, MA) highlighted the Emory representatives with a first-team nod, as well as being chosen the league's Player and Rookie of the Year. Recently named as one of 30 D-III semifinalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award, Organisak has played in all of Emory's tournaments this season, averaging a team-best (10 rounds or more) 73.6 strokes over 19 rounds. He has either tied or ranked as the team's top performer on three occasions while recording a team-high tying five rounds of par or better.  His best 18-hole effort of the season was a final-round 69 at the Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational, where he tied for fifth out of 95 competitors with a 54-hole score of 214, good for a third-place tie on the program's all-time ladder for a three-round event.

Sophomore Stefano Butti (Palm City, FL) landed a first-team spot for the second-straight season, averaging 74.1 strokes over 14 rounds of play. Butti, the owner of a team-best tying five rounds of par or better, has enjoyed a solid spring, which saw him rank first on the team and fifth out of 150 competitors at the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational (Mar. 17-19).  In addition, he was No. 2 among the Eagle contingent and eighth out of 87 players at the Discover DeKalb Emory Invitational (Apr. 8-9).

Junior Keenan Hickton (Pittsburgh, PA) played his way to first-team recognition for the second time in his career, logging 19 rounds of play and averaging 74.9 strokes per outing. He has finished as Emory's top scorer on three occasions during the campaign, most recently at the 36-hole Wynlakes Intercollegiate (Mar. 27-28) in Montgomery, Alabama.  His top round of the season is a three-under par 69 on the opening day of action at the NCAA D-III Fall Preview.

Sophomore Connor Yakubov (Columbus, OH) was chosen to the second team. Yakubov has averaged 76.3 strokes over 16 rounds of play, registering four rounds of par or better. He claims the best Emory round of the campaign, a three-under par 67 on the final day at the Discover DeKalb Emory Invitational  (Apr. 8-9) that helped him post a team-leading 36-hole effort of even-par 140, good for fifth place on the leader board out of 87 players.
