Emory Golf Wins Fourth Straight UAA Title

The No. 1-ranked Emory golf team won its fourth straight and the program's 19th University Athletic Association Championship on Sunday afternoon, posting a 3-2 down-to-the wire victory over No. 15 Carnegie Mellon.  The Championships were played at the 6,776-yard, par 72 Hammock Beach Resort Course in Palm Coast, Florida.

Using a match-play format, Emory posted a 3-2 decision over the Tartans.  The match was deadlocked at 2-2 with Logan Ryan and Jay Milch heading to the 18th hole.  After Ryan's tee shot, Milch hit a pair of drives out of play whereupon he conceded the hole, giving the Eagles the win.

Below are the results of the match-play competition
Sam Galloway (EU) 4&2 over Joshua Lim (CMU)
William Knauth (CMU) 1 up over Matt Organisak (EU)
Eric Yiu (EU) 5&4 over Jason Folker (CMU)
Logan Ryan (EU) 1 up over Jay Milch (CMU)
Jason Li (CMU) 6&5 over Connor Yakubov (EU)

Emory returns to action later this week (Mar. 15-17) when it plays at the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.

Eric Yiu was selected as the MVP of the Championships while Ryan captured a berth on the Championships All-Tournament Team.
