Emory Men's Golf Places Three On All-UAA Team

Three members of the Emory University men's golf squad have been selected to the All-University Athletic Association Team.

The trio includes senior Davis Hingtgen (Orlando, FL), and juniors Max Schwarz (Paradise Valley, AZ) and Logan Ryan (Ft. Wayne, IN).

Hingtgen earned his first berth on the All-Association Team, playing in all five of the team's events during the spring and posting an average of 74.4 strokes over 14 rounds. Hingtgen registered four rounds of par or better with his top 18-hole scores of 71 taking place on the first day of play at the Hampden-Sydney Tiger Invitational (Mar. 13-14) and during the second round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate (Apr. 12-13).   Davis paced the Eagles' contingent at Wynlakes and finished tied for ninth overall out of 71 competitors at one-under par 143.  At the recently completed NCAA D-III Championships in Wheeling, West Virginia, Hingtgen was Emory's top performer with his 72-hole score of 297 placing 23rd on the leader board out of the 96 entries who played all four rounds (191 started out).

Schwarz brought home his second straight All-UAA nod, topping the team with an average of 72.5 strokes over 14 rounds.  Schwarz notched six rounds of par or better including a career-best mark of four-under par 68 over the final 18 holes at the Hampden-Sydney Tiger Invitational, which helped him tie for medalist honors in a 71-player field with a 36-hole showing of 137 that tied the program record for the best score for a 36-hole tournament.  Schwarz distinguished himself as well as the Jekyll Island Invitational (Mar. 19-21) shooting par or better over all three days and ending that event tied for second out of 133 players with 54-hole score of four-under 212,  tying the program's 11th-best score for a three-round tournament.

Ryan's selection marks the third straight campaign that he has been recognized by the UAA.  His average of 74.2 strokes over 14 rounds was second on the team, and he finished the season with three rounds of par or better.  He shot a pair of 68s, tying for the club's top score during the year, at the Jekyll Island Invitational (Mar. 19-21) and the Golfweek D-III Invitational (Apr. 2-4), leading the Emory effort in the latter while placing second on the leader board out of 60 players with a one-over par 217.  At the Wynlakes Intercollegiate, he was second among the Eagles' pack and tied for 16th position in a 72-player field with a 36-hole effort of one-over par 145.
