Men's Basketball Set to Participate in 2024 Great Lakes Invitational

Men's Basketball Set to Participate in 2024 Great Lakes Invitational

The Emory University men's basketball program will be one of eight teams participating in the 2024 Great Lakes Invitational on November 22-23, 2024. Calvin University will serve as the host of the 2024 tournament with all eight games across the two days to be played at the Van Noord Arena on Calvin's campus in Grands Rapid, Michigan.

In recent years, the Great Lakes Invitational has been one of the premier non-conference tournaments in the country with the Invitational serving as a early season showcase of some of the best teams in Division III. The tournament was created by Ryan Whitnable, host of This Week in Great Lakes Basketball Podcast.

The 2024 Great Lakes Invitational field includes host Calvin University, Emory University, Johns Hopkins University, UW-Lacrosse, St. John's (MN), John Carroll University, Marietta College and Hope College.

"Emory Basketball is grateful to be a part of such a first class event," Head Coach Jason Zimmerman said. "The student-athletes, programs and coaches participating in the Great Lakes Invitational are some of the best in the country. The weekend will be a great test for our team early in the season and we look forward to representing Emory University and competing against two great programs."

The Eagles are set to face two NCAA tournament teams at the Invitational this upcoming November, with a matchup against the host Knights on November 22 followed by a meeting with John Carroll on November 23.
