Tim MacAllister joined the Emory basketball staff as an assistant coach in August of 2013.

Prior to joining the Eagles, MacAllister was a student-assistant for three seasons (2010-11 through 2012-13) at NCAA Division I member Murray State University of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).  He was part of a program that manufactured an overall record of 75-21, including a glittering effort of 31-2 during the 2011-12 campaign that saw the Racers capture both the OVC regular season and conference tournament titles.  The '11-12 Murray State squad earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament where it advanced to the third round.  One of the players MacAllister worked with while at Murray State was former All-American Isaiah Cannan, the 34th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft (Houston Rockets).

MacAllister has served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air National Guard/Security Forces since 2007.  While deployed at the Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan, he was the head coach of the base's first-ever basketball team (2009-10) that played a number of contests against teams throughout that country.

MacAllister has worked numerous summer basketball camps including those at the University of Illinois, the University of Memphis. Florida State, Murray State, Georgia Tech and Belmont.

A native of Russellville, Kentucky, he earned his bachelor's degree in Spanish from Murray State in May of 2013.
