Senior (2008):

Laney had a breakout season both offensively and defensively for the Eagles during the 2008 season.  He was one of just two Eagles to start all 19 games for the team over the course of the season.  Laney helped lead the Emory defense, which finished the season ranked 11th in Division III with a 0.58 shutout percentage and 27th with a 0.72 team goals-against average.  His play allowed the team outscore opponents 57-14 and outshoot opposing teams 345-140 during the season.  The senior recorded career bests with four goals and five assists for 13 points during the year.  Laney scored game-winning goals during the Eagles' 8-0 win over Methodist University on August 31st, and their 4-0 win over the University of the South on October 24th.  He finishes his Emory career with five goals and six assists for 16 points over 53 games.  Laney was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team for his performances both on the field and in the classroom in 2008.

Junior (2007):

Laney appeared in a career-high 19 games for the Eagles during the 2007 season, one of eight Emory players to play in each of the squad's games.  He made 18 starts for the team's defense during the year, helping Emory to a 0.67 team goals against average and nine shutouts.  Laney helped the Eagles outscore their opponents 58-13, and hold a 146-57 advantage in shots on goal in 2007.  The junior scored the first goal of his career during the Eagles 8-0 win over the University of the South (Tenn.), and added his first career assist in Emory's 4-2 victory over New York University. 

Sophomore (2006):

Laney played in 11 games for the Eagles defense, coming off the bench in each of them.  The sophomore was a part of five of Emory's team shutouts during the season.

Freshman (2005):

Laney appeared in four games in the Eagles backfield in 2005.
