Senior (2008):
McFarland earned an honorable mention to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) for his performance during the 2008 season. For the second-consecutive year, he led the team in assists, recording 11 during the campaign, placing him third in school history with 31 career assists. McFarland scored three goals as well, placing tying him for third on the team with 17 points. Also for the second-consecutive year, he led all UAA players with four assists in conference matches. McFarland matched a school single-game record with three assists against Methodist University on August 31st. He had a two-goal game against New York University on November 2nd. He also recorded three game-winning assists during the season, giving him 10 over his career, the second-best total in school history. McFarland will finish his career 11th in school history with 89 career points, and 13th with 29 career goals, over the course of 73 matches. He was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team for his performances both on the field and in the classroom in 2008.
Junior (2007):
McFarland earned numerous postseason honors for the Eagles, following a successful 2007 for the junior forward. He was named a CoSIDA Academic All-America second team member for his performance both on the field and in the classroom. McFarland also earned spots on the all-South Region and all-University Athletic Association (UAA) second teams after scoring 16 points and five goals in conference games (second in both categories only to teammate Patrick Carver), and leading all UAA players with six assists. He finished the season leading all Emory players with 12 assists (eighth-best in school history), and second on the squad with 12 goals and 36 points (13th-best in school history). He registered at least one point in 14 of the Eagles' 19 games during the year. The junior scored two game-winning goals during the year, both of which were ‘golden goals,' one coming against Wittenberg University (Ohio) and the other against Greensboro College (N.C.). McFarland led all Emory players with five game-winning assists, including two in UAA matches. He was one of just eight players to appear in all 19 games for Emory, making 18 starts during the season.
Sophomore (2006):
McFarland finished second on the team in scoring in 2006, registering five goals and a career-best five assists for 15 points during the year. The forward was named to the Academic All-District team in his first year of eligibility for the honor. McFarland recorded his second career hat-trick on September 9th, scoring three goals against the seventh-ranked College of New Jersey. He became the seventh player in school history to record more than one hat trick over his career. McFarland finished second on the team with four game-winning assists. He played in all 17 games for Emory, making 13 starts for the Eagles.
Freshman (2005):
McFarland finished his freshman season tied for second on the team with nine goals, and third on the team with 21 points. McFarland appeared in all 19 Emory games during the season. The forward took 35 shots, 24 of which were on goal. McFarland scored the game-winning goal against conference rival Washington University (Mo.).
