Jake Graetz - Offense

Jake Graetz - Offense

Emory University's Jake Graetz was named the Most Valuable Player of the Sonny Carter Invitational, scoring two goals during the Eagles first two games of the season last week.  Graetz scored the first goal of the game in Emory's 6-1 win over the University of the Ozarks, as the junior scored off a crossing pass from teammate Nate Wise.  He also scored Emory's lone goal during the second half of a 2-1 loss to Southern Wesleyan University, heading a cross into the back of the net to knot the contest at a goal apiece at the time.  The midfielder and co-captain, who is making the transition from the defense to midfield this season, has already set a new career high in goals and points.  Graetz's performance has helped the ninth-ranked Eagles to a 1-1-0 start to the campaign, and to a tournament win at the Sonny Carter Invitational.
