Emory freshman defender Andrew Natalino scored a goal, and helped the Eagles hold opponents to just two goals during the 126 minutes he played during the team's first two games of the season. Natalino scored the game-winning goal, the first of his career, during the Eagles' 6-1 win over the University of the Ozarks. During the contest, he helped stake the Eagles to a 4-0 lead before leaving the game. The freshman also played in the backfield for the entirety of the Eagles 2-1 loss to Southern Wesleyan University. For his performance during the two contests, he was named to the Sonny Carter Invitational all-tournament team. Natalino's play helped the ninth-ranked Eagles open the 2009 season with a 1-1-0 record.
