Freshman (2009):

O'Brien played in 14 games during his freshman campaign, making nine starts.  The forward finished the season with three goals and three assists for nine points, the fourth-best total on the team.  O'Brien scored the game-winning goal in the Eagles 2-1 win at Guilford College on September 20th.  He also picked up a game-winning assist during Emory's 3-1 win at Oglethorpe University on October 7th.  O'Brien's first collegiate goal came on September 13th against Eastern Mennonite University, helping Emory to a 2-1 win.

Played on the MICDS soccer team for four seasons... Scored 20 goals and 13 assists during his high school career... Was named to the all-conference first team during his senior year, and to the second team in his junior year... Coached by Terry Murray in high school... Also played for the St. Louis Scott Gallagher club team, where he was coached by John Powers... Ran varsity track in high school.
