Emory Men’s Soccer to Start Road Swing at Maryville College

The Emory University will look for its tenth win of the season on Friday, October 23rd, as the Eagles will start a three-game road trip at Maryville College at 6:00 PM.

Emory is coming off a 1-0-1 weekend, during which the Eagles' defense recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time this season.  Emory currently sits at 9-3-1 on the season, including a 7-1-0 record in road and neutral matches.  The Eagles are currently ranked seventh in the South Atlantic Region.

Maryville will enter the contest with a 9-1-3 overall record, including a mark of 6-1-2 at home this season.  The Scots have won two-straight matches, including a 2-1 win at Piedmont College on Monday.

Emory is 12-8-0 all time against Maryville, including four consecutive victories in the series.  Last season, the Eagles defeated the Scots 1-0 at the Woodruff Physical Education Center.

The Eagles are one win away from their eighth-consecutive 10-win season, and their 13th in the last 15 years... Emory is currently 1-2-1 in University Athletic Association (UAA) matches, good for fifth-place in the conference... The Eagles' defense is currently ranked 52nd among all Division III teams with a 0.76 goals against average, and Emory goalkeepers are 66th in the nation with a 0.828 save percentage... Christopher Howie's 0.46 assists per game rank him 62nd in Division III... Trenton Spindler is ranked 40th in Division III in goals against average (0.649) and 64th in save percentage (0.837)... Emory has still allowed just one first half goal this season, while allowing nine in the second half of play.
