The Emory University men's soccer team will begin its University
Athletic Association (UAA) schedule on Sunday, playing host to
conference rival Washington University (Mo.) at 11:00 AM.

The Eagles will enter Sunday's contest on a seven-match winning
streak, and with a 7-1-0 overall record. The Eagles, ranked
sixth in the South Atlantic Region, are a perfect 7-0-0 against
Division III teams this season. Emory will be looking to
defend its 2008 UAA Championship, its first since the 1998
season. The Eagles were 6-1-0 in conference play last
season.
Washington University will enter Sunday's match with an overall
record of 5-1-3 this season, including a mark of 2-1-1 in road
matches. The Bears are ranked seventh in the Central Region,
and have won three of their last four games.
Last season, Emory defeated Washington 1-0 in St. Louis, MO,
outshooting the Bears 17-3 in the contest. The Eagles are
just 7-10-6 all time against the Bears, but won five-straight
contests.

Junior Michael Scannapieco scored the
game-winning goal during the Eagles' 1-0 win over Covenant College,
his first of the season... He became the 12th Eagle to
score a goal this season, and the team's sixth-different player to
score a game-winning goal... Emory is yet to allow a first-half
goal this season, outscoring its opponents 10-0 in the first period
of play... The Eagles have gone 6-0-0 in road matches during the
season... Emory goalkeeper Trenton Spindler has
gone 7-1-0 this season with a 0.56 goals against average, including
a 0.33 goals against average during Emory's seven-match winning
streak.
