Emory University goalkeeper Trenton Spindler was named the Most Valuable Player of the Shellenberger Classic, leading the team to a tournament victory.  Spindler did not allow a goal in his 153:40 between the pipes, making nine saves and earning a pair of victories over two games.  The junior played 63 minutes and 40 seconds of the Eagles’ 4-0 victory over Randolph College on Saturday, making three saves before leaving halfway through the second half with the game in hand.  Facing host school and regionally-ranked Lynchburg College on Sunday, Spindler made six saves in a 1-0 victory, earning his third complete game shutout in five games this season.  He has allowed just one goal this season in over 423 minutes, good for a 0.21 goals against average.  In addition, he has earned the victory in all five Emory games this season, making 23 saves thus far.  Spindler’s performance has helped the Eagles start their 2010 campaign with a perfect 5-0-0 record.
