Emory University midfielder Nick Jones was
named the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) Offensive
Player of the Week for men’s soccer, based on his performance
during the Eagles’ NCAA Tournament game against Lynchburg
College.
Jones scored the only Emory goal during the Eagles 2-1 loss to
Lynchburg College in the second round of the NCAA Division III
Men’s Soccer Championships. The sophomore midfielder
gave Emory a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute, scoring his
third goal of the season with a header off a pass from Adam
Waxman.
Despite his efforts, Emory’s season came to a close on
Sunday, as the 12th-ranked Eagles finished the year with
a 14-3-2 record.
