The 12th-ranked Emory University men’s soccer
team dropped a 2-0 decision to Carnegie Mellon University, during
the teams’ regular-season finale in Pittsburgh, PA.
Emory fell behind in the first half on Max Tassano’s
seventh goal of the season. Tassano scored in the
21st minute, giving the Tartans a 1-0 lead that they
would hold for the rest of the first half.
The Tartans would maintain the 1-0 lead until the 74th
minute, when Joey Paladino scored off a rebound to increase
Carnegie Mellon’s lead to 2-0.
Emory was outshot 14-5 in the game, including a 7-0 edge in shots
on goal.
With the loss, Emory fell to 14-2-2 and finished third in the
University Athletic Association with a 3-2-2 conference
record. Carnegie improved to 11-4-1 overall, with a 2-4-1 UAA
mark.
With the regular season now complete, the Eagles will await the
announcement of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament
bracket. The selected teams and location of the first- and
