Both the Emory University men's and women's soccer teams were recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their academic achievements in 2011, receiving the organization's Team Academic Award.

Emory was one of 157 schools to have both their men's and women's programs recognized with the honor.  The NSCAA presented the Team Academic Award to a total of 789 soccer teams, including 218 men's squads and 571 women's teams.

Under head coach Sonny Travis, the Emory University's men's squad recorded a team grade point average of 3.43.  The Eagles, who finished the year with a 10-8-0 record, were one of five UAA men's programs to receive the award.

The Emory women's team, which recently completed a 17-1-2 campaign, compiled a team grade point average of 3.60.  The team was one of seven UAA squads to earn the honor.
