Emory University senior co-captain David Garofalo led an Eagles’ defense that allowed just four shots, only two of which were on goal, during a 1-0 loss at Washington University (Mo.) on Sunday afternoon. Garofalo played all 90 minutes of the University Athletic Association (UAA) contest, holding Washington to just one score on the day, and limiting the Bears to just one shot in the second half. The outside back also took three shots of his own during the game, one of which was on goal. Garofalo has recorded a pair of assists this season, and has helped Emory’s defense record a 1.19 goals-against average this season, while outshooting opponents 223-118. The Eagles are 6-5-1 overall in 2012, and are tied for fourth in the UAA with a 1-1-0 conference record.
