Emory University senior David Garofalo played all 90 minutes of the Eagles 1-0 shutout win over sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday, helping the team clinch a share of the 2012 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship. The Eagles’ co-captain was the leader of an Emory backline that limited Carnegie to just seven shots, only two of which were on goal. Garofalo has been a leading contributor to the Eagles’ six shutouts this season, and the team’s 1.27 goals-against average. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 10-6-1 record and a 4-2-1 mark in UAA games.
