Emory University goalkeeper Abe Hannigan played a key role in the Eagles’ 1-0 double overtime win over New York University on Sunday. Hannigan made three saves in the shutout, his second of the season, including a diving stop during the first overtime that preserved the scoreless tie, allowing Emory to win the game in the second overtime period. The freshman also made one save during the Eagles’ 3-1 loss to #17 Brandeis on Friday night. Hannigan improved to 7-3-1 on the season with a 1.28 goals-against average and a .635 save percentage. The win on Sunday kept the Eagles, who are 9-6-2 overall this season, within reach of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship with one game remaining in the regular season.
