Emory University sophomore Michael Rheaume scored the ‘golden goal’ in the Eagles’ double-overtime win against New York University that kept the team in the running for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Rheaume scored a goal on an Eagles’ counter attack in the 101st minute of the game, burying a cross from senior Andrew Natalino inside the far post. The goal was his second of the season, and his first career ‘golden goal.’ Rheaume and the Eagles improved to 9-6-2 overall this season, and to 3-2-2 in overtime games. The Eagles are also 3-2-1 in UAA games, and are one game out of first place in the conference with one game left to play.
