Dylan Price Earns Capital One Academic All-District Honors

Dylan Price Earns Capital One Academic All-District Honors

Dylan Price, a sophomore forward on the Emory University men's soccer team, was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), based on his 2012 performance both on the field and in the classroom.

Price has been one of the top scorers in the country this season, ranking 84th in Division III with 11 goals, 88th with 0.65 goals per game, and 99th with 25 points.  The sophomore has also scored six game-winning goals this season to lead all Eagles, and is one short of matching the school single-season record in the category.  Price earned an honorable mention to the all-UAA team in 2011.  For his two-year career, Price has scored 18 goals and assisted on four others for 40 points, including eight game-winning scores, tied for the fourth-most in school history.

This was the first Academic all-District honor for Price, who has compiled a 3.68 cumulative grade point average as a business and Russian dual major, and qualified for Academic all-UAA honors this season.

By virtue of being named to the Capital One Academic All-District team, Price will be placed on the ballot for the Academic all-America Team, which will be announced on Tuesday, November 27th.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  Emory is part of District 5, which includes Division III schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The Eagles will play for a chance at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday, November 3rd, when Emory travels to Carnegie Mellon University for a 5:30 PM matchup against the sixth-ranked Tartans.
