Hardington Named UAA Athlete of the Week

Emory University freshman Sebastian Hardington was named the Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the University Athletic Association (UAA), following his game-winning and conference title clinching goal against Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.

Hardington led the Eagles to an upset win over the nation's sixth-ranked team, tapping in the game's only goal in the 72nd minute of action to break a scoreless tie with his first collegiate goal.  The score not only gave the Eagles a win in their season finale, but allowed Emory to force a four-way tie for the UAA Title, giving the program its seventh conference championship, and first since the 2008 season.

The Eagles finished the 2012 regular season with a 10-6-2 record, including a 4-2-1 record in UAA games.  Saturday's win also led to the Eagles receiving an at large bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championships.  Emory will open tournament play at Roanoke College on Thursday, November 8th at 6:00 PM.

The following Eagles have been named 2012 UAA Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week:

September 24th: Dylan Price (Offense), Noah Rosen (Defense)
November 5th: Sebastian Hardington (Offense)
