Jeffrey Cochran

Jeffrey Cochran

Emory University senior midfielder Jeffrey Cochran assisted on three goals, including a pair of game-winning goals in overtime, to help the sixth-ranked Eagles to a pair of wins last week.  All three of his assists during the week came on long throw-ins.  He played 36 minutes against non-conference opponent Oglethorpe University on Wednesday, and assisted on Sebastian Hardington’s ‘golden goal’ with a long throw in the 107th minute that gave Emory a 2-1 double-overtime win.  On Sunday, he assisted on both goals with long throws during a 2-1 overtime victory in the Eagles’ conference-opening win at Washington University (which entered the game as the 12th-ranked defensive team in Division III), including one on Matt Sherr’s game-winning goal in overtime.  Cochran has four assists this season, including a pair on game-winning goal, and his nine career game winning assists are tied for the fourth most in the program’s history, and two behind Patrick Carver’s school record of 11.  Cochran and the Eagles have won 11-straight games, and are one of 11 undefeated teams remaining in Division III with an 11-0-1 record.
