Junior (2014):

Hannigan started all 18 games he played in during his junior season, recording career-best marks in nearly every statistical category.  He finished the year with eight shutouts (tied for the second-most by an Eagle in a single-season), a 12-4-2 record, and a 0.63 goals-against average (the fourth-lowest ever by an Eagle and the 32nd-best mark in Division III in 2014).  He yielded just 12 goals and made 49 saves for a .803 save percentage (104th-best in D-III), while playing a career-high 1,701 minutes and seven seconds.  Hannigan was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on September 8th, after recording back-to-back shutouts against Ohio Northern and Ramampo College.  Twice during the season, he recorded three-straight shutouts – against Berry College, Birmingham-Southern College and the University of the South from September 20th – 27th, and against the University of Rochester, Case Western Reserve University and Carnegie Mellon University from October 31st – November 8th.  He made a season-high seven saves during a 2-1 double-overtime win against Oglethorpe University on October 1st.  Hannigan will enter his senior season at Emory tied for third in the program’s history with 32 wins, just 13 short of the Emory career record.  He is also third in school history with 17 career shutouts (four behind the school record), eighth with 142 saves and a 0.98 goals-against average, and 12th with a .736 save percentage.

Sophomore (2013):

Hannigan earned the first postseason honor of his career, as the sophomore was named to the all-University Athletic Association (UAA) Second Team for his performance during the 2013 campaign.  He played every minute of the Eagles’ conference matches, leading all UAA goalkeepers with a 0.81 goals-against average, a .846 save percentage, three shutouts and 33 saves in conference play.  Overall, Hannigan started all of the Eagles’ 18 games and played 1,646 minutes, sitting for just 14 minutes during the season.  He finished the year with an 11-5-2 record and six individual shutouts (tied for the seventh-most in school history), while notching a 1.09 goals-against average, the 131st-best mark in Division III.  Hannigan turned away 62 of the 82 shots on goal during the campaign for a .756 save percentage, ranking 198th among D-III keepers.  He recorded a season-high six saves on three occasions, coming on October 20th against Brandeis University, November 1st against the University of Rochester, and November 9th against Carnegie Mellon University, with each opponent ranked nationally at the time of the game.  His three conference shutouts came at the University of Chicago on October 12th, against New York University on October 18th and at Case Western Reserve on November 3rd, in addition to non-conference clean sheets against Mississippi College (September 1st), at Guilford College (September 8th) and against Millsaps College (September 28th).  He was named the UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week on October 14th and October 21st.  Through his two seasons on the team, Hannigan ranks eighth in school history with 20 wins, ninth with nine shutouts, 10th with a 1.18 GAA, 12th with 93 saves and 13th with a .705 save percentage.

Freshman (2012):

Hannigan became the first Emory freshman to start a game in goal since Derek Marinatos did so as a red shirt in 1995, and the first true freshman to start in goal since Brian Smith in 1991.  Taking over the starting goalkeeper duties seven games into the campaign and holding it the rest of the way, Hannigan finished the year with a 9-4-1 overall record, recording a 1.29 goals-against average and a .620 save percentage.  Two of his three shutouts in 2012 came in key conference games at the end of the season, with a pair of 1-0 wins over New York University and Carnegie Mellon University in back-to-back weeks.  Hannigan recorded a career-best seven saves in his starting debut at Berry College on September 15th, and finished the year with 31 saves.
