Emory Men’s Soccer Adds Professional Keeper Ceus to Coaching Staff

Emory University Head Coach Sonny Travis has announced the addition of Steward Ceus, Haitian international keeper and current starter for the Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League, to the Eagles' coaching staff as the team's goalkeeper coach.

Ceus comes to Emory with a plethora of experience at the professional ranks.  After an all-American career at the University of Albany, he was selected as the 37th overall pick in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids.  He went on to appear in four matches for the Rapids, while also seeing time with the Charlotte Eagles and Narpes Kraft Fotbollsforening of the Second Division Finnish League, before joining the Silverbacks at the start of the 2015 season.  Ceus was recently named to the NASL's Team of the Week, following his first start with the Silverbacks.

He also has been a member of the Haitian Men's National Team since 2010, earning seven caps with the squad.

In addition to his playing experience, Ceus has served as the Director of Goalkeeping for PrimoSports and the Colorado Fusion, while also working as the Goalkeeper Coach for World Class FC, Maximus FC and Cornwall FC.

"We are very excited to have Steward join our coaching staff for the fall of 2015," said Travis.  "He brings a wealth of experience as an accomplished goalkeeper playing at the professional level and with the Haiti National Team.  A goalkeeper with this background will be instantly respected by our four returning goalkeepers.  Also, he has had experience coaching goalkeepers at various clubs in New York and for the Colorado Fusion.  I am confident he will challenge and develop each of our goalkeepers here at Emory."

Emory made its 15th NCAA Division III Championship appearance in 2014, finishing the year ranked 24th in Division III with a 13-4-2 overall record.  The Eagles will kick off their 2015 campaign on Tuesday, September 1st at Oglethorpe University.
