The Eagles have rattled off four consecutive wins including three straight shutouts as they come into play with an overall record of 6-2 and are receiving votes in this week's D3Soccer.com National Top-25 poll. Emory has played particularly well at home, going 4-0 and outscoring opponents 10-0 at the Woodruff PE Center. Jason McCartney has begun his senior season where he left off in 2016, registering a team-high five goals and ranks third in the UAA with 11 points on the season. Junior Moustafa Khattab and sophomore Keegan McCombie rank second on the team with three goals apiece.

Emory, led by seniors Cody Gardiner, Georges Daoud and juniors Tyler Santee and Aidan Datené, has posted one of the strongest defensive units in the country, allowing just four goals in eight games and ranks 21st in Division III with a 0.49 goals-against average. Freshman Cole Gallagher has posted a UAA-leading 0.20 GAA between the posts, recording a 4-1 record to go along with a .917 save percentage.

#16/17 Washington University (6-0-1)

The Bears, ranked 16th in the United Soccer Coaches Association and 17th in D3Soccer.com this week, enter Saturday's match riding a six-game winning streak and are unbeaten in their last nine games dating back to last season. WashU features one of the stingiest defensive units in the country, allowing just two goals through seven contests in 2017 while Ryan Sproule leads the Bears offensively, registering a team-high five goals and one assist for 11 points. The Bears are led Joe Clarke who is in his 21st season with the program. In his 21 years, Clarke has guided WashU to a 233-103-47 overall record and 10 NCAA tournament berths.

All-Time Series

Emory trails in the all-time series as WashU holds a 13-10-8 advantage in 31 meetings. However, the Eagles have controlled the series in recent years, going 3-0-1 in the past four matches including three straight, all by one-goal margins. Last season, Khattab netted the game-winner in the 87th minute to stun the 8th-ranked Bears.
