The Emory University Men's Soccer team hosts New York University and 15th-ranked Brandeis University in the first double weekend of the University Athletic Association slate this Friday and Sunday at the Woodruff PE Center.

The Eagles and Judges begin play this weekend tied atop the UAA standings with 2-0 marks. Brandeis plays at Rochester on Friday before making the trek to Atlanta for Sunday's showdown.
Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, Rochester and Case Western Reserve are all tied at 1-1 in conference play with NYU and Washington still looking for their first UAA wins of the season.
Friday's schedule also features CWRU at WashU and Carnegie Mellon at Chicago. In addition to Emory and Brandeis, Sunday's lineup pits NYU at Rochester, CMU at WashU and CWRU at Chicago.
RV/23rd Emory University Eagles (9-2, 2-0 UAA)
With seven straight wins, the longest winning streak since 2014, and a 2-0 record last week against Piedmont College and No.-1 ranked University of Chicago, the Eagles are currently receiving votes in this week's edition of the United Soccer Coaches Association national rankings while D3Soccer.com ranks Emory 23rd in their national poll.
Senior Jason McCartney and junior Moustafa Khattab pace the Eagles with double-digit point totals with 16 and 11 respectively. McCartney leads the team with seven goals, tying his career-high. The Emory defense led by seniors Cody Gardiner, Georges Daoud, Adam Ferguson and juniors Tyler Santee, Aidan Datené have posted a .634 goals against average for the season, a mark that ranks 32nd in Division III. Freshman goalkeeper Cole Gallagher enters the weekend ranked in the top-5 nationally in GAA (3rd, 0.17) and save percentage (4th, .938).
New York University Violets (7-3-1, 1-1 UAA)
The Violets enter play 7-3-1 overall on the season and are coming off a 3-2 victory over Baruch College at home on Monday. NYU is still looking for its first UAA win of the year, falling to Carnegie Mellon (3-1) and Case Western Reserve (5-1). The Violets have seen 13 different players find the scoring column this season with Maxi Rodriguez and Owen Smith leading the way with five and four goals, respectively. Rodriguez also tops the team with 12 points while Smith checks in with 10. Grant Engel has started all 11 games in goal for NYU, posting a 7-3-1 record with a 1.40 goals-against average and a .743 save percentage. The Violets are led on the sidelines by Kim Wyant who is 21-23-3 in three seasons with the program.
15th/15th Brandeis University Judges (9-2, 2-0 UAA)
The Judges, coming off a Final Four appearance in 2016, are 9-2 overall with their only blemishes coming against SUNY-Cortland and defending national champion Tufts University. Brandeis has won four in a row including two over conference foes Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon. Senior Josh Ocel leads the team with 12 points on the strength of a team-best six assists. Classmates Patrick Flahive and Mike Lynch have each netted four goals which tops the team. The Judges rank 58th in GAA, posting a .796 average through 11 contests. Senior goalkeeper Ben Woodhouse has collected two shutouts on the year to go along with an 8-2 record, 0.87 GAA and a .805 save percentage.
Brandeis is led on the sidelines by Gabe Margolis who took over for long-time head coach Mike Coven, who retired in December after 44 seasons with the team. Margolis has been a member of the Judges staff since 2005.
All-Time Series
Emory leads the all-time series with NYU 20-5-4 including a 1-0 victory on the road last season. Khattab provided the game-winner, scoring in the 38th minute.
Brandeis has won three straight in the series but still trails the Eagles 19-9-2 overall. Last season, the Judges earned a 2-0 decision at home.
