Tommy Maurer

Tommy Mauer, a former standout player at Berry College, joined the Emory men's soccer program as an assistant coach in August, 2006.

Maurer, a native of Lawrenceville, Ga., enjoyed a stellar four-year career at Berry (2002-2005) as a midfielder and defender.  As a senior, he served as captain of the team and garnered honorable mention All-America honors after helping the Vikings to an overall record of 15-6.  A member of two Berry squads that advanced to the NAIA national semifinals (2003 & 2004), Maurer was a second-team honoree to the All-Southern States Athletic Conference his junior campaign while earning first-team recognition on the All-TranSouth Athletic Conference squad as a sophomore in 2003.  Career-wise, Maurer played in 89 games and totaled 11 goals and 11 assists for 33 points.

A Dean's List member while at Berry, Maurer was also active in the university's Athletes Bettering the Community (ABC) Program.  He earned his bachelor's of science degree in business management. 

Maurer attended St. Pius X High School and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Georgia for 2001-02.
