Emory Swimming & Diving Heads to Athens for Last Chance Meet

Members of the Emory University swimming and diving team will have one final opportunity to improve on their qualifying times for the 2012 NCAA Division III Championships, as the Eagles will take part in the University of Georgia's Last Chance Meet in Athens, GA on Saturday and Sunday.

Fans can follow this weekend's meet with live-updating results.  Links will be posted to GeorgiaDogs.com and EmoryAthletics.com when they are made available.

Coming off a sweep at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships for the 14th-consecutive season last weekend, the Eagles will now turn their attention to preparing and qualifying for the NCAA Championships next month.  With the deadline to submit championship entries coming up on Monday night, Emory will be one of a number of Division III teams across the country looking to secure its position heading into Nationals.

The Emory University women currently rank first among all NCAA Division III teams, while the men are ranked third.

Among the other teams competing at the meet include Division I schools such as Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, Harvard, Duke, North Carolina and others.

Full results and a recap of the Eagles' performance at the UGA Last Chance Invitational will be posted to EmoryAthletics.com following the completion of competition at the meet.
