Emory University junior John Galvin recorded his best time of the season in the 200-yard butterfly at the Emory Invitational last weekend. Galvin swam a time of 1:50.17 to win the finals of the event, a .30-second improvement on his previous season-best time. The mark was also good for an NCAA ‘B’ cut time, one of three he recorded in the event during the meet (he also swam times of 1:51.34 in the preliminaries, and 1:51.82 in the time trials of the 200-yard butterfly). Galvin scored 20 points towards the Eagles’ team total, helping the squad to a first-place finish at the meet.
